Heavenly Horizons: God's Call to Expansion

Maria Lancelot

There’s a world where everyone’s a bird,

Not in body, but in each spoken word.

Through the heavens rings a cry so clear,

The eagle’s voice that all can hear:

“Do not fear the heights, embrace the view,

God’s beauty is vast, and it’s meant for you.”

The hen below scoffs with a cluck,

“Your lofty words are just pure luck.

Don’t you see this dirt and mire?

This broken world, where dreams expire?”

The eagle descends with a knowing gaze,

A messenger sent to shift her ways.

“Come with me,” he softly pleads,

“There’s more to life than what you see.”

With wings outstretched, they climb the sky,

Through clouds where whispers of heaven lie.

The hen, bewildered, feels the wind,

And wonders if she’s been blind within.

Perched on high, she looks below,

At valleys wide and rivers that glow.

But fear soon grips her trembling heart,

“This world’s too big; where do I start?

I’m small and weak; I’m bound to fall—

Please take me back to where I crawl.”

The eagle listens, wise and still,

Then speaks with words that shape the will:

“God made this earth with hands so vast,

To teach that life is not bound by the past.

What you see below—the dirt, the pain—

Is part of a plan you cannot explain.”

He guides her back with gentle care,

To the ground where the hen stands and stares.

“Though I was afraid, I now can see,

God’s hand in all—from sky to tree.

Even the muck holds lessons profound;

His grace and purpose in all things abound.”

The eagle smiles, a voice divine,

“God’s truth is eternal, His design sublime.

He calls us higher, beyond the known,

To see the seeds His love has sown.

Expansion comes when you let go,

And trust in Him through highs and lows.”

So hear the message the eagle brings:

God’s glory is found in all living things.

Lift your eyes, take the flight,

For God’s vision turns darkness to light.

In every moment, He calls us near,

To rise in faith, to persevere.
